Assessment

You need to know.

To build and maintain an effective team, the leader needs to know:

  • What impacts (postitively and negatively) the group’s morale.
  • What motivates each individual on the team.
  • What is hampering the team’s performance.
  • How he or she is doing in supporting team members.

To figure this out, you could simply ask people for their opinions.  The problem is that they probably won’t tell you what they really think.  No matter how strong your relationships are with each team member, people still hedge when talking with the boss about problems they are experiencing.

Overcoming this obstacle

That’s where our online team assessment can help. The TeamCheck teamcheck-logoAssessment Tool is a simple web-based survey.  The process is low hassle and low cost.  It’s a quick way for you to gain some great insights about what your team is thinking.

An easy process

In about two weeks you could have a much better understanding of how things are going in your group, from the perspective of your employees.  Here’s how it works.

  • We have a short conversation over the phone to understand your goals and learn more about your team.
  • We customize the assessment so that it will be better understood by the people being asked to complete it.
  • We send you a test assessment for you to approve.
  • You provide us with a list of emails for the people you want surveyed.
  • You alert those people that a survey will be conducted and the purpose for it.
  • We send each person an email invitation.
  • Respondents go to a web site and complete the survey anonymously.
  • We compile the information and email you a report that tells you what the team thinks is and is not working in terms of teamwork.
  • We will offer a set of recommendations for what to do with the assessment results.

Give it a try

To try this for your direct reports or to set up a project where we measure several of the teams within your area of responsibility,  contact Tom.  He will discuss your goals with you, provide you with a link to a sample survey, and answer your questions about the  process.
