Pay Attention

ostrich

Over the years I’ve come to believe that one key skill leaders possess is that they pay attention. They keep their eyes open, listen carefully, and trust when their guts are telling them that there is something that needs their attention.

Everyone has the ability to pay attention. There is, however, a natural inclination to ignore that which should grab our attention. Perhaps we believe that if we notice it, we have to deal with it. And everyone is way too busy for that. Nevertheless, pay attention and see what you notice. You just might learn something important.
